Rockstar had to change GTA 6’s pace after testing the timings used in GTA 5. According to GamesRadar+, the new game felt too fast when following Los Santos’s pattern.
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson explained that Vice City’s greater detail required adjustments. The team reconsidered how players move through the world and experience the passing of time.
More time to enjoy the night

Reported differences include longer day and night cycles. Streets are narrower than those in Los Santos, which were widened to make driving and turning easier in GTA 5.
The place came first
Research into the setting began with a small team visiting Miami while much of Rockstar was still working on Red Dead Redemption 2. Those visits took place before Jason and Lucia’s story reached its final shape.
Longer days and nights will give players more time to enjoy each period in Vice City. The exact length of those cycles has not been announced.
