Players planning to play GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 may need to organize their console storage before launch. A report published on October 27 by PlayStation Game Size indicates that the standard edition of Rockstar's new game will require a download of approximately 210 GB.
The account tracks data related to the PlayStation digital store and is known for reporting game sizes. Specialist outlets including GamesRadar, Canaltech and Omelete reported the figure. Rockstar, however, has not officially announced an installation size for GTA 6.
How much space is 210 GB on PlayStation 5?
On the original PS5 model, which offers approximately 667 GB of usable storage, 210 GB represents almost a third of the available space. Players with several titles installed may need to remove older games or expand their storage.
The size is striking compared with GTA V, whose PS5 version takes up approximately 100 GB depending on updates and installed content. If the reported figure is correct, the new adventure could require considerably more space.
Preloading is scheduled for November 12
GTA 6 preloading is scheduled for November 12, one week before its November 19, 2026 release. It allows players to download files ahead of time and begin playing when the title unlocks.
The 210 GB report concerns the standard PS5 edition. The same report did not provide sizes for Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, and the space required after updates may differ from the initial download size.
For anyone counting down to Vice City and the state of Leonida, checking free space beforehand could save a lengthy cleanup when it is time to begin.
