The wait for GTA 6 has reached the official police account in Greensboro, North Carolina. In a November 6 post, the department joked that the game needed to arrive soon so people would stay home and give officers a break.

The message appeared on @GSO_Police, the department’s public communication account. It put the officers among those keeping an eye on the release calendar.

A request for some quiet

GTA 6 needs to hurry up and get here so y'all can stay at home and let us catch a break.

The joke draws on a familiar feeling for players. When a long-awaited release arrives, the temptation is to set aside time to play and move other plans to later.

For the police, that became a public request for quieter streets. The post had passed 39,000 likes and was approaching one million views when checked on November 8.

The game is scheduled for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until then, players have company in their wait from people working Greensboro’s streets.
